Frequently asked questions
Should we be concerned about the weather?
The perennial British question. We anticipate good weather, however it can of course never be guaranteed. The ceremony and reception will be largely carried out within an indoor space, and so there will be plenty of cover from rain. There is heated areas outside, but the barn is not heated (though we anticipate frenzied dancing will maintain any heat required). Please do ensure you are prepared should there be any bad weather on the day.
How do I get to the venue?
We will be providing for transportation from the ceremony to the reception venue. However, if you would like to make your own way there, see our "Details" page for more information on the location. There will be parking facilities available for the drivers both at the ceremony and reception.
Is there a dress code?
No. Whilst we have encouraged Black Tie, this is by no means compulsory.
Are we going to get muddy?
No! The reception venue, whilst taking place on a working farm has concrete paths. You need not worry about ruining your heels, boys.
Are children welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this advance notice means you’re able to let your hair down and celebrate with us on the day! If you do have any concerns, however, please do just let us know.
Any questions? We'll try to answer them here, but otherwise feel free to reach out!
Can I bring a plus one?
Due to venue restrictions, we would kindly ask that you do not bring anyone not already invited, or catered for, on the day. Any concerns, just get in touch.
Is there anywhere we can stay overnight?
Check out our "Extras" page for more guidance on accommodation.
What if I have dietary requirements?
We will try to cater as far as we can to any particular dietary requirements. Please just let us know as part of your RSVP, or otherwise get in touch with any concerns.
Can we take photos?
We have been asked that attendees do not take any photos of the ceremony. You are welcome to take photos at the reception venue should you wish to, however we would encourage you to enjoy your day. We will have a photographer there on the day taking photos, and will share these with all of our guests once ready.
Will there be animals?
Bysshe Court is a working farm, so whilst we cannot guarantee horses and/or cows will welcome you to the venue, there will be livestock in the vicinity. If you have any concerns about this, please do get in touch.
